Introduction to
Storyboarding for Animation

 

CHRISTIAN ROMAN has been working in animation for over 30 years in almost all facets of the industry including story, storyboarding, character design, timing, layout, directing and executive producing.  He started working in television animation on such productions as The Simpsons, King of the Hill, The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat, Lilo & Stitch, Mission Hill, and directed two series for Disney Television Animation (Fillmore! and Jake Long: America Dragon).  In 2006 he transitioned into Feature Animation with The Simpsons Movie, then started at Pixar as a Story Artist on Toy Story 3, Cars 3, all the Toy Story shorts and specials, Toy Story 4, Onward, Luca, and most recently Elemental.  

He wrote "How to Storyboard the Simpsons Way", has taught story and storyboarding at Laguna College of Art, Animation Collaborative and One Academy, and co-wrote the Art of Storytelling for Pixar In A Box and Khan Academy.
